DOT

USDOT Numbers are used by the USDOT to monitor a company or independent owner-operator’s safety management practices and controls.

MC

KYU Weigh Distance Permit

Any motor carrier 60,000 pounds or greater traveling Kentucky is subject to KYU tax. The KYU number is a tax license issued for the Kentucky Weight Distance Tax.There is no faster way to get your KYU issued, DOT Operating Authority is your best choice.

New Mexico WDT Permit

New Mexico enforces a weight-distance tax on owners, operators, and registrants of both intrastate and interstate commercial vehicles. The declared gross vehicle weight is in excess of 26,000 pounds. This tax relies on vehicle weight and miles traveled on the roads of New Mexico.

Oregon Truck Permits

NY Highway Use Tax Permit

New York State imposes a highway use tax (HUT) for motor carriers operating specific motor vehicles on NYS public highways (excluding toll-paid sections of the New York State Thruway). The weight of the motor vehicle and the method that you choose to report your taxes determines the tax rate that you must pay.

EIN

An EIN, or Employer Identification Number, identifies a business with a series of 9 digits. It helps the IRS track and file taxes for a business entity. It functions very similarly to a Social Security number, but instead of an individual, it applies to a company. When you file for an EIN, you’ll need to supply the IRS with your SSN.

Drug & Alcohol Testing Program

It includes questions regarding previous accident history, drug, substance abuse and alcohol test records and refusals to test and other specific driving information. The Department of Transportation or DOT requires a DOT Employment Verification from the past 3 years for all commercial drivers.

Quarterly IFTA Filings

Under IFTA, you are required to file quarterly fuel tax returns. The reporting quarters and due dates are: Reporting Quarter Due Date January – March April 30 April – June July 31 July – September October 31 October – December January 31

IRS 2290 (HVUT) Filing

“Highway use tax” and “Heavy vehicle use tax” can be used intergangably. This tax represents the required annual fee that you must pay if you operate vehicles with a registered gross weight equal or exceeding 55,000 pounds on public highways
